Today VMware announced that it has acquired E8 Security along with the company’s team. VMware plans to add E8 Security to Workspace ONE to help break down management and security silos. This announcement comes on the heels of VMware adding intelligence-driven innovations to its Workspace ONE last week.

As more companies embrace their digital transformation they find more tools that would be beneficial to help them keep growing. Unfortunately these tools can pose new security risks that force new security measures that in turn can kill productivity or create management and security silos. This can add unnecessary complexity and poor user experiences. This is where E8 Security’s technology comes into play.

Though E8 Security has only been around a short while, it has a fairly impressive track record. It leverages analytics to detect and respond to threats. It can do this through a single platform that doesn’t add more complexity. These abilities combined with the recently announced intelligence-driven innovations allow customers to use automation to detect threats while streamlining management, remediation, and automation to improve the employee experience and the security of their digital workspace.

Benefits and capabilities include:

  • Behavior Analytics: Discover malicious activity with automated learning of user and device behavior, reducing alert fatigue and accelerating detection of cyber threats.
  • Advanced Threat Protection: Surface anomalies and suspicious behaviors against advanced threats, such as malware, insider, targeted, and unknown threats by leveraging machine learning.
  • Correlation: Ingest data sources and quickly correlate data to help secure the evolving digital workspace.

VMware will continue sharing details about the integration of E8 Security’s technology with Workspace ONE in the future.
