WD Nomad Rugged External Drive Case Released

Consumer

Western Digital has released the WD Nomad rugged case for their My Passport line of external hard drives. The Nomad protects from drops as high as seven feet, moisture, dust, spills and other mishaps associated with the active life an external drive leads.

WD Nomad

The WD Nomad rugged case (Bearded Dragon lizard optional) features a polycarbonate exterior and shock-absorbing elastomer cushion inside. The case meets military spec MIL-STD-810G (PDF) for ruggedness. A heavy-duty latch and silicon seal keep out dirt, dust, and moisture – even while allowing access to the drive’s USB connector.

Pricing and Availability

The WD Nomad rugged case is available now with a suggested price of $29.95.
