Supermicro Launches New Line Of Low Power, High Density Server Solutions

Today Supermicro announced the launch of a new line of low power, high-density server solutions that support Intel Xeon Processor D-1500 product family. The new solutions run the gamut of various configurations from UP motherboards to 1U and Mini-Tower servers all the way up to a high-density 6U 56-node MicroBlade microserver.

With energy efficiency in Data Center and Cloud environments being a growing concern, companies are looking for solutions to address these issues. Supermicro’s new line of solutions, with a variety of form factors, offer customers low power consumption and high-density options enabling them to obtain performance per watt, per dollar across a range of Embedded and Hyperscale workloads and environments. Supporting Intel Xeon D-1500 technology offers even more savings. The new Broadwell-DE SoC utilizes Intel’s 14nm process technology and features a 64-bit architecture with up to 8 cores running under 45W.
