Barracuda Networks has launched Backup 5.0 featuring LiveBoot for VMware. LiveBoot allows administrators to boot a server live from Barracuda Backup’s deduplicated storage server if primary storage for their VMware environment fails. LiveBoot also serves as a platform to test and sandbox updates, upgrades, and other server changes.

LiveBoot also serves as a platform to test and sandbox updates, upgrades, and other server changes.

Barracuda Backup is an end-to-end solution for mixed physical and virtual environments that combines an appliance for onsite backup with cloud and private cloud disk-based replication. Backup 5.0 includes a restore browser where administrators can recover a whole image or selectively restore folders and files.

Availability

Barracuda Backup 5.0 is available now through Barracuda’s Energize Updates service, currently priced at $199 per year. Barracuda Backup also requires one-time purchase of a Barracuda Backup Server, from $999.
