HPE unveils AI-driven security, zero trust networking, and ultra-fast backup with Alletra X10000 and Zerto integration at Black Hat USA.

HPE has announced a significant expansion of its cybersecurity, resiliency, and compliance portfolio, emphasizing a multi-layered approach to enterprise security. The company’s latest developments will be showcased at Black Hat USA, which reflects a strategic integration of HPE Aruba Networking and HPE Juniper Networking, alongside advancements in data protection and disaster recovery.

AI-Driven Insights and Zero Trust Enforcement for Advanced Security

HPE introduced new capabilities to its secure networking portfolio, including the SASE Copilot for HPE Aruba Networking EdgeConnect. This AI-powered assistant provides real-time analysis of network activity, helping organizations identify security gaps, investigate anomalies, and monitor unpatched systems. The SASE Copilot is designed to deliver actionable insights, supporting IT teams in proactively addressing potential threats and optimizing network performance.

The expansion of HPE Aruba Networking Central NAC extends zero trust policy enforcement beyond HPE’s own devices to include HPE Juniper Networking and third-party endpoints. This enables organizations to implement granular, identity-based controls for both users and IoT devices, regardless of vendor. The integration of AppEngine with Aruba Networking Central further enhances visibility and control, allowing for real-time application classification and risk-based policy enforcement.

To bolster threat defense, HPE has incorporated WebCC and URL filtering into its unified SASE solution. These features provide real-time threat intelligence, blocking access to malicious sites, suspicious IP addresses, and risky content, thereby reducing the attack surface across the enterprise network.

Breakthrough Backup and Recovery Performance

HPE is advancing enterprise data protection with the general availability of the HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000. This modern, software-defined, scale-out all-flash object storage platform is engineered for AI workloads and now serves as a high-performance data protection solution. By increasing compute resources and optimizing backup software, the X10000 delivers ultra-fast backup and restore capabilities, supporting recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs) measured in minutes rather than days.

The X10000’s disaggregated, scale-out architecture allows organizations to scale capacity and performance independently, accommodating growing backup volumes without compromising efficiency. HPE reports backup speeds of up to 1.2 petabytes per hour—nearly double that of competing solutions. The platform leverages HPE StoreOnce Catalyst Software for up to 60:1 data reduction, integrating seamlessly with leading enterprise data protection software. Commvault and Cohesity NetBackup are validated partners, with Veeam support expected in the second half of 2025.

HPE Zerto Software: Integration Hub for Cyber Resiliency

HPE Zerto Software introduces a new integration hub designed to connect third-party cybersecurity solutions with HPE’s disaster recovery platform. CrowdStrike is the exclusive launch partner for this initiative. The integration enables real-time detection and rapid recovery: when CrowdStrike Falcon identifies suspicious activity, it automatically tags the event in Zerto’s continuous data protection journal. This allows organizations to roll back to a clean recovery point seconds before an incident, minimizing data loss and downtime.

The integration also enhances recovery within the HPE Cyber Resilience Vault, which combines Zerto, Alletra Storage MP, ProLiant servers, and Aruba Networking to create an air-gapped, zero-trust environment for ransomware protection and recovery. HPE is validating Zerto against U.S. government standards, including CISA, STIG, and FIPS, to ensure compliance and robust security.

To further strengthen storage security, HPE has established a cybersecurity Center of Excellence focused on detecting and verifying storage systems against ransomware and emerging threats. The company has validated the ransomware and threat detection capabilities of the HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 against the top 25 ransomware strains, providing customers with additional assurance of data integrity and protection.

Unified Networking and Data Protection at Black Hat USA

At Black Hat USA, HPE is presenting its unified networking portfolio for the first time since acquiring Juniper Networks. The showcase includes the latest in AI-native networking and advanced data protection, with a focus on securing hybrid cloud environments. Notably, the HPE Juniper Networking Next-Generation Firewalls, including the SRX 4700, offer industry-leading throughput (up to 1.4Tbps per rack unit) and support for zero trust architectures and mesh firewall capabilities. These solutions are designed to meet the needs of enterprises, service providers, and cloud operators seeking high performance, effective security, and operational simplicity.

Availability

The HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 is available now. The HPE Zerto Software integration hub is expected to be available in Q4 2025.
