Lenovo and WEKA have announced a global agreement focused on solutions for next-generation data management architectures and performance-intensive workloads. The solutions, available in 160 markets worldwide, will accelerate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and analytics for high-performance workloads such as finance, genomics, life science, and media and entertainment applications, speeding time to insights while reducing costs.

Next-generation workloads can be challenging when it comes to data management. New data management solutions need to be reliable, secure, high-performant, and have the ability to scale. Lenovo has been expanding its data management solution. It will combine WEKA’s high-performance, hybrid cloud data platform software with the Lenovo ThinkSystem servers to deliver robust, high-performance, and scalable data management for AI and data analytics.

The new ThinkSystem SDS Ready Nodes with WEKA Data Platform software will offer a broad range of configuration choices, allowing customers to choose from the latest generation of Intel and AMD processors, NVIDIA GPUs, NVMe drives, and fast networking selections. Validated WEKA Ready Node systems can be quickly deployed for all scale-out workloads simplifying deployment and eliminating risk resulting in improved time to production.

The WEKA Data Platform is a solid solution for applications with varied I/O patterns and unpredictable performance needs. It excels at latency-sensitive and large file I/O without the need for tuning. In addition to multi-protocol support (Windows, Linux, macOS, PSOIX, S3 native), it allows multiple applications to simultaneously share and collaborate on a single data set with full consistency across protocols. We published the announcement when WEKA unveiled Version 4 Multicloud Data Platform for AI and Next-Generation Workloads.

The Lenovo and WEKA combined solution is architected to simplify scale while delivering leadership-quality uptime and performance. Enterprises deploying the WEKA-integrated ThinkSystem SDS Ready Nodes can leverage hybrid on-premises and cloud resources for cloud bursting and scaling.

The University of Lausanne uses the new Lenovo ThinkSystem servers with WEKA Data Platform software as the foundation for their high-performance environment for processing sensitive data. With stringent legal and technical constraints for processing medical or sensitive data, find Lenovo and WEKA to be “attentive” to the issues and “are among the few providers of products that can combine very high performance with strong data security,” according to Dr. Roberto Fabbretti, Ph.D., Lausanne’s Director of the Computing and Research Support Division.

Jonathan Martin, President at WEKA, said:

“For organizations looking to innovate or power research and discovery with AI, ML, and HPC, this solution promises to be transformative. We are thrilled to be working with Lenovo to deliver it to customers in over 160 countries worldwide.”

Lenovo ThinkSystem SDS Ready Node solutions validated with the WEKA Data Platform include the ThinkSystem SR630 V2, SR635 V2, SR650 V2, and SR655 V2. WEKA software licensing is available for purchase through Lenovo today so that the systems can be quickly deployed for all scale-out workloads.
