Business has changed a lot in the last two years. Remote work and digital workspaces became increasingly important, not just in the short term. Most workers prefer to work remotely and the added flexibility can be beneficial to both employer and employee. Microsoft 365 (formally Office 365) is a subscription service for popular business Apps. With Windows 365, the entire PC experience will come through a subscription, fixed or per-seat monthly cost.

NetApp is one of the major partners working with Microsoft and has introduced its Spot PC by NetApp. According to the company, Spot PC is a secure, optimized Azure Virtual Desktop-based Cloud PC environment for named and pooled users that incorporates NetApp’s enterprise-class infrastructure, data protection, monitoring, and security technologies. This service is also delivered through a fixed or per-seat monthly subscription. As the name implies, it will be leveraging NetApp’s Spot automation technology.

Spot PC by NetApp is not an end-user device, it is aimed at MSPs. Spot PC gives MSPs a single-pane-of-glass to give their admins insight into servers, storage, workspaces, and user resources in and across each tenant.

Through the collaboration announced above the two companies are announcing Windows 365 with Spot PC. Windows 365 will be delivered with enhanced management capabilities through Spot PC as a fully managed infrastructure service. This is said to streamline and simplify onboarding, deployment, and management of services. The aforementioned single-pane-of-glass gives admins unified management of Windows 365 instances. The combined solution can accelerate the move to a more elastic workforce.
