NVIDIA and IREN Limited have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of next-generation AI infrastructure, with plans to support up to 5 gigawatts of NVIDIA DSX-aligned AI infrastructure across IREN’s global data center pipeline over time.
The partnership brings together NVIDIA’s AI systems and architecture with IREN’s infrastructure experience across power, land, data centers, GPU deployment, and operations. The companies said the collaboration is intended to expand access to accelerated computing for AI-native companies, startups, and enterprise customers.
As part of the agreement, NVIDIA and IREN plan to collaborate on deploying NVIDIA-accelerated compute in DSX AI factories. The companies said this approach is designed to support large-scale AI infrastructure by connecting compute, networking, software, power, and operations into integrated AI factory deployments.
Sweetwater Campus Expected to Serve as Flagship Deployment
Future deployments are expected to focus on IREN’s 2-gigawatt Sweetwater campus in Texas, with the site serving as a flagship deployment for NVIDIA’s DSX architecture.
The Sweetwater campus is positioned as a major part of IREN’s broader data center pipeline and is expected to support the companies’ shared goal of scaling AI infrastructure for customers that need access to high-performance compute. Through the partnership, NVIDIA and IREN aim to accelerate the deployment of AI factories to meet the growing needs of AI-native and enterprise workloads.
Both companies believe AI factories are becoming key infrastructure for the global economy, as organizations increasingly require advanced systems to train, deploy, and operate AI models. They also indicated that building this infrastructure at scale requires coordination across the full stack, including compute, networking, software, power, and operations.
NVIDIA Receives Right to Purchase IREN Shares
As part of the partnership, IREN issued NVIDIA a five-year right to purchase up to 30 million ordinary shares at an exercise price of $70 per share. The right allows NVIDIA to invest up to $2.1 billion, subject to certain conditions, including regulatory requirements.
NVIDIA and IREN say their partnership will combine NVIDIA’s DSX AI factory architecture with IREN’s ability to develop and operate large-scale infrastructure. By pairing NVIDIA-accelerated compute with IREN’s data center and power capabilities, the collaboration will enable faster deployment of AI infrastructure across global markets.
This partnership also works as a framework for NVIDIA and IREN to collaborate on future large-scale AI factories, with a focus on expanding access to AI compute for startups, AI-native companies, and enterprise customers.
