The InfiniFlash creates an entirely new category in the IT industry as it geared toward and dubbed “Big Data Flash.” InfiniFlash comes in three configurations that are all aimed at delivering high capacity, high performance, and reliability for big data and hyperscale workloads.

The InfiniFlash creates an entirely new category in the IT industry as it geared toward and dubbed “Big Data Flash.” InfiniFlash comes in three configurations that are all aimed at delivering high capacity, high performance, and reliability for big data and hyperscale workloads.
With the increasing mobile workforce, social media, big data analytics, and cloud computing the market for all-flash and hybrid flash arrays is expanding rapidly. According to IDC the market for flash-based arrays (both all-flash and hybrid) “exhibited strong double digit growth over the past five years for a combined market that in 2014 was over $11.3B in size.” And the increase in needing high-performance, high-capacity storage will only fuel the market growth for flash-based arrays.
InfiniFlash an all-flash array, SanDisk's first storage array, that is designed to address enterprise and hyperscale workloads such as Big Data analytics, content repositories (such as social media sites), and media streaming. The InfiniFlash provides 5 times the density, 50 times the performance, and 4 times the reliability all while consuming 80% less power than a standard HDD array. All of InfiniFlash's technology is designed in-house by SanDisk. The InfiniFlash also surpasses the capabilities of existing all-flash arrays buy offering up to half a petabyte in capacity, a low total acquisition cost (below $2/GB before compression and deduplication), and reliability as the hardware is fully hot-swappable and redundant allowing for non-disruptive operation.
InfiniFlash’s modular storage design supports various operating systems and storage stack offerings and can be connected with up to eight off-the-shelf servers. The new array includes SanDisk’s ION Accelerator software stack for block-storage applications and utilizes the open source CEPH platform as well as OpenStack to deliver enterprise-class data service. These offerings include development libraries and a software development kit allowing customers to obtain better performance, efficiency, and total cost of ownership by optimizing application use with their systems.
SanDisk’s offers InfiniFlash in three different configurations: The IF100 that is aimed at OEMs and Hyperscalers. The IF500 that is aimed at large scale Object Storage based applications, unified scale-out flash storage, and enterprise-class, web-scale features and services. And the IF700 for high performance based applications, traditional databases (Oracle, SQLServer, SAP, etc.), NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB), and application based protection.
