Synology Releases VS360HD

Today Synology Inc. announced that they are releasing their latest VisualStation, VS360HD. The VS360HD can be paired with a Synology Network Video Recording system (NVR) running Synology’s Surveillance Station, providing a robust security system that doesn’t need a dedicated computer. The VS360HD can decode and display up to 36 channels of HD video.

This newly updated VisualStation is completely redesigned from the previous model. The VS240HD looked like a small, 1-bay DiskStation. The new VS360HD has a more rugged design and looks very similar to the EDS14. The VS360HD has no moving parts and is more resistant against vibration and hardware failure. It can also withstand a wide range of temperatures making it ideal for areas that see lots of traffic and gets exposed frequently to outdoor temperature, such as a front desk in a hotel, store, or office building.

The VS360HD uses an intuitive interface that is simple enough for beginners to use right away and provides enough features to satisfy seasoned professionals. It comes with 3 USB ports enabling connectivity to a mouse, keyboard, TV, and even a joystick. The VS360HD is also easily mounted and, being small enough to fit in the palm of one’s had, can be mounted behind a monitor as to not take up desk space.
