EcoFlow expands its portable power station portfolio with new Delta 3 products to address performance and scalability.

EcoFlow has expanded its portable power station portfolio with the release of five new DELTA 3 units, designed to push performance and scalability further than before. The lineup includes the DELTA 3 Max, DELTA 3 Ultra, and DELTA 3 Classic, along with a premium tier consisting of the DELTA 3 Max Plus and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus.

EcoFlow sent us the DELTA 3 Max Plus and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus, giving us hands-on time with the two flagship models. These systems build on the foundation of the earlier DELTA 3 Plus, which we previously tested, but bring significant improvements in capacity, sustained output, and expandability.

The new DELTA 3 Max Plus and Ultra Plus series raise the bar for traditional power stations, offering higher continuous power ratings of up to 3,000W for the Max Plus and 3,600W for the Ultra Plus. It also boosts surge capability to 6,000W and 7,200W, respectively. Both units support modular expansion up to 10–11kWh, positioning them for off-grid living, backup power, or professional applications. They also support 1,800W AC input and up to 1,600W PV solar input, delivering fast and flexible recharge options.

Despite their power, both models maintain a compact, resilient design that fits easily into home environments. Durability features are subtle but welcome: the Delta 3 Max Plus withstands drops of up to 0.25m. In comparison, the Delta 3 Ultra Plus can withstand drops of up to 0.2m, and both models feature moisture resistance to mitigate risks from overnight dew.

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus

The DELTA 3 Max Plus is equipped with a 2048Wh LFP battery pack, delivering long cycle life and dependable performance. At 48.7lb / 22.1kg and measuring 494 × 242 × 305mm, it strikes a balance between portability and capacity, aided by EcoFlow’s dual side handles for easier carrying. The housing is constructed with durable plastic and rated to withstand drops up to 0.25m, while moisture resistance prevents safety issues in outdoor or garage conditions. For added convenience, EchoFlow offers optional detachable wheels, making the unit even more portable when frequent transport is required.

From a performance perspective, the Delta 3 Max Plus supports 3000W continuous AC output with a 6000W surge, powering everything from small electronics to demanding appliances. It offers 10 outlets, AC and DC options, including USB-C ports rated at 140W max and auxiliary USB outputs for smaller devices. On the input side, it supports up to 1800W AC charging and 1000W solar charging, providing users with flexible options for recharging depending on the environment. Expansion is supported up to 10kWh, pairing with a wide range of EcoFlow’s extra batteries, including the DELTA 3 Max Plus Extra Battery, DELTA 3 Series Extra Battery, DELTA Pro 3 Extra Battery, and DELTA 2 Max Extra Battery.

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus

The DELTA 3 Ultra Plus features a larger 3072Wh LFP battery pack, making it better suited for extended off-grid or backup use. Despite its capacity, EcoFlow keeps it accessible at 74.3lb / 33.7kg with dimensions of 613.1 × 327.7 × 395mm. Like the Max Plus, it features integrated carry handles, a reinforced casing, and wheels, as well as an expandable handle for easy movement of the unit. Still, it is rated for slightly less drop resistance at 0.2 meters. It also carries the same moisture resistance, offering adequate safety during overnight use or storage in damp conditions.

This unit supports a 3600W continuous AC output and a 7200W surge capacity, opening up more headroom for high-demand appliances. The Ultra Plus features 11 total outlets, including AC, USB-C, and USB-A fast charging ports (up to 140W USB-C and 2×45W max), as well as DC outputs for smaller devices. Charging flexibility is a highlight, with 1800W AC input and 1600W solar input, ensuring faster recharge cycles. Expansion goes even further, supporting up to 11kWh, compatible with the DELTA 3 Max Plus Extra Battery and the DELTA Pro 3 Extra Battery.

Both the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus are designed with long-term dependability and ease of use in mind. Each unit operates quietly at under 25dB, remaining unobtrusive even during sustained loads. A bright LED display provides instant access to battery percentage, input/output wattage, and system alerts. The EcoFlow app extends functionality with remote monitoring, firmware updates, and real-time power management.

For power continuity, both models feature a built-in UPS mode with an advertised switchover time of <10ms, ensuring that sensitive equipment remains protected during outages or voltage drops. Backed by LFP battery chemistry, the systems are rated for a 10-year life expectancy under normal use. EcoFlow also includes a 3+2 year warranty, giving owners up to five years of coverage for added peace of mind.

Charging flexibility is another key strength of the new DELTA 3 Max/Ultra lineup. Supported input methods include:

Notably, the Ultra Plus takes it a step further by supporting simultaneous charging with both solar and generator inputs, with a combined maximum input of 3960W. This enables it to recharge from 0% to 80% in as little as 48 minutes, giving users confidence that they can quickly restore significant capacity, even in demanding situations.

EcoFlow App and Remote Management

As we’ve covered in past reviews, EcoFlow’s iOS and Android app is a key part of the user experience, and the new DELTA 3 Max Plus and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus are no exception. Both units can first be paired over Bluetooth for quick local control, then joined to a Wi-Fi network to unlock full remote access and monitoring while away from the unit.

When looking at the app, users can create sites for easier organization. The space dashboard provides a clear overview of devices associated with that space, along with their current status. In our example, the Test space displays both the DELTA 3 Ultra Plus and DELTA 3 Max Plus. At a glance, you can see that the Ultra Plus is online at 99% battery, while the Max Plus is shown as offline, which in practice can mean it is powered off, not connected to the network, or fully depleted.

When selecting one of the online units, the app opens a detailed dashboard showing the current status of the device. Here, users can view the total input and output in watts, along with a breakdown of the four possible input sources and the AC /DC output sources. The interface also allows for direct control of power groups, enabling you to switch AC 1, AC 2, and DC outputs on or off from the app. This makes it easy to manage connected loads without requiring physical access to the unit.

When looking in Settings, the app provides access to both general and input-specific options. Users can rename the unit, assign it to a specific site, or adjust convenience settings such as beep toggle, auto timeout, screen brightness, and time zone. Connectivity can also be managed here, with quick access to Wi-Fi setup.

Under the Input section, charging behaviors can be fine-tuned. Options include adjusting the AC charging speed, setting the car charging current, and enabling or disabling Smart Generator auto start/stop. The ability to set limits on AC and car charging current is beneficial, as it helps ensure that circuits that may already be under load are not overdrawn, reducing the risk of safety hazards or damage from overloading. These controls enable users to customize charging performance according to their power source, environment, and backup needs.

Continuing in Settings, the app offers controls for adjusting output behavior. One of the most notable features here is X-Boost, which allows the unit to deliver power above its rated continuous capacity temporarily. This is separate from the short-term surge capacity and is designed to handle devices that require a higher draw for a limited time. With X-Boost enabled, the DELTA 3 Max Plus can reach up to 3800W, while the DELTA 3 Ultra Plus can climb to 4600W.

Additional options include Output Port Memory (which remembers whether ports were last left on or off), AC Output Protection, and the ability to disable grid bypass, allowing users to enforce inverter output at all times.

At the bottom of the Settings menu, users will find Savings-oriented and Backup settings, which include options for setting a Charge/Discharge limit, selecting an Operating Mode, and configuring Scheduled Tasks. These controls provide users with more flexibility in managing power on a day-to-day basis.

The Firmware Update screen confirms when the unit is up to date. In this case, version V6.64.87.7 is installed, ensuring the system is running the latest version. Keeping firmware current is essential, as EcoFlow often delivers bug fixes, feature enhancements, and extended device compatibility through these updates.

Overall, the EcoFlow app is a well-built, feature-rich component of the DELTA 3 Max Plus and Ultra Plus, enabling users to customize their battery systems to suit their environment and usage needs.

Battery Capacity Testing

To better understand real-world efficiency, we ran both the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus through complete discharge (from 100% to 0%) and recharge (from 0% to 100%) cycles. These figures illustrate the amount of usable energy the units deliver compared to their rated capacity, as well as the energy required to fully recharge them.

Both units performed well, with the Ultra Plus showing slightly higher discharge efficiency thanks to its larger capacity. Recharge efficiency was similar across both units, aligning with what we typically see from inverter-based system power stations in this class.

UPS Transfer Time

Another test we use for portable power stations is a UPS-mode transfer time test. In this test, the unit is fully charged with a workstation connected, and incoming power is suddenly removed. We then measure the time it takes the system to switch from line power to inverter power.

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus

Conclusion

The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus bring solid upgrades to EcoFlow’s current portable power lineup. Both units feature high-capacity LFP batteries, higher continuous and surge output, and versatile charging options, all in a design that naturally integrates into home, business, or off-grid environments. With modular expandability up to 10–11kWh, they are equally suited for everyday backup use and extended deployments where reliability is critical.

Performance testing showed solid efficiency in both discharge and recharge, with the Ultra Plus delivering slightly higher usable capacity. Both models also proved reliable in UPS-mode testing, switching power in under 10ms, which is essential for protecting sensitive equipment. Combined with quiet operation, a 10-year rated battery life, and remote management via the EcoFlow app, these units deliver an impressive mix of power and usability.

At $1,099.00 for the DELTA 3 Max Plus and $1,599.00 for the DELTA 3 Ultra Plus, the value proposition is clear. The Max Plus offers excellent portability and expandability for its size. At the same time, the Ultra Plus stands out with its larger battery, higher output, and support for dual solar and generator charging.

Overall, like other EcoFlow units we have reviewed, the DELTA 3 Max Plus and Ultra Plus extend EcoFlow’s reputation for user-friendly, durable, and scalable power stations. Whether for off-grid adventures, home resiliency, or professional backup applications, both units deliver a combination of performance and features that make them easy to recommend.
