Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has introduced new solutions within the HPE GreenLake cloud platform that aim to simplify enterprise storage, data, and workload management across on-premises and public cloud environments.

In 2023, HPE transformed hybrid cloud storage with the industry’s first modular scale-out block storage on a single operating system, serving SMBs and large enterprises. This innovation allows businesses to move from managing individual storage arrays to a unified data management experience. HPE’s platform-based strategy simplifies storage management, enhances efficiency, and supports business growth by leveraging cloud operational models, AI-driven automation, and seamless data mobility.

HPE has continued to focus on simplicity for customers, and these new solutions to the HPE GreenLake cloud platform follow in that vein.

HPE GreenLake Block Storage for AWS simplifies data management and workload placement in the cloud through software-defined storage. It offers a unified storage management experience across hybrid cloud environments, delivering faster time to value and enterprise-class resiliency. This solution allows enterprises to optimize data management, application development, and deployment across on-premises and public cloud environments while providing cost-effective hybrid cloud data protection and disaster recovery.

HPE Timeless Program enhances the storage ownership experience by offering new investment protection and a seamless infrastructure lifecycle path. Customers choosing block storage on HPE Alletra MP and participating in the program can upgrade to a next-generation controller without disruption when renewing their subscription. For more details, read our deep-dive coverage of the Alletra MP. This program promises an average TCO savings of 30% by avoiding forklift upgrades and includes HPE’s 100% Data Availability Guarantee and HPE StoreMore data efficiency guarantees. It ensures predictable multi-year economics and guaranteed data availability and efficiency service levels.

AIOps-enabled workload management and observability with HPE Infosight and OpsRamp, now fully integrated into the HPE GreenLake cloud. New cross-stack analytics streamline storage management, helping users proactively avoid latency issues. The AIOps engine enables customers to observe, predict, and mitigate disruptions across virtual machines, storage, network, compute, and cloud infrastructure. Also, HPE Alletra MP customers can track energy consumption and carbon emission trends through the HPE Sustainability Insight Center.

HPE Alletra MP delivers mission-critical resiliency with midrange economics, scaling up to 5.6PB with support for up to 16 JBOF expansion shelves. Enhanced built-in global protection supports three-site replication for improved data protection. Integrating Zerto Cyber Resilience Vault with HPE Alletra MP provides secure, immutable data copies. It enables rapid air-gapped recovery after cyber-attacks, ensuring protection, audibility, and secure vaulting of critical applications.

Availability

HPE GreenLake Block Storage for AWS will be available to order at the end of May 2024; the HPE Timeless Program will be available at the end of Q3 2024; and HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Business Edition with HPE Alletra MP or HPE SimpliVity Gen11 will be available in July.
