SUSE announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Rancher Labs. This would make the former a market leader in enterprise Kubernetes management. The deal is expected to close before the end of October 2020, subject to customary closing conditions including receipt of regulatory approvals.
Today Liqid announced that it was working with Broadcom to deliver the first PCI-Express (PCIe) Gen 4.0 Fabric Reference Design Kit (RDK). This RDK should help the adoption of PCIe 4.0 in the data center. The companies have also built managed-fabric solution powered by Liqid Command Center orchestration software and Broadcom PEX88000 PCIe Gen 4.0
Today IBM Storage announced improvements and updates around improving its customers journey into most efficiently leveraging artificial intelligence (AI). These updates include a new IBM Elastic Storage System (ESS) 5000 for long-term storage capacity. The IBM COS storage engine has been completely modernized. And IBM Spectrum Discover will be incorporated into Red Hat OpenShift environments.
WD has announced the addition of new Western Digital Capacity-Enterprise storage products data center portfolio, the WD Gold family, which now features new 16TB and 18TB CMR HDD capacities.
