Today Pivotal Software, Inc. announced the new alpha version of its Pivotal Application Service (PAS) on Kubernetes. The company also announced other new products based on PAS features that are aimed at improving the developer and operator experience when using Kubernetes.

Barracuda has been investing heavily in better security for Microsoft Azure lately. Last week they launched Cloud Security Guardian, an agentless Software-as-a-Service security solution for Azure. Today, Barracuda is building on that release with an update to its CloudGen Firewall.

Today Quest released version 6.0 of their QoreStor software. QoreStor is a software-defined deduplication and replication (e.g., for disaster recovery) platform.
