SandForce has brought their second generation SSD processors to the consumer space with the SF-2200 and SF-2100. The new processors leverage much of the technology from the enterprise controllers announced last year. The SF-2200 includes support for the SATA 6Gb/s interface and is the first controller to enable 500 MB/s+ read and write speeds for consumer SSDs.

Other World Computing (OWC) has announced a new hardware RAID storage drive with 12TB of storage in a desktop-sized enclosure. It features four 3TB drives in four hot-swappable bays.

Super Talent has announced their new CoreStore line of Solid State Drives (SSDs) with PCIe and mini-PCIe connections. The mini-PCIe version is designed for use in notebooks, netbooks, and tablets; the standard PCIe version is for desktops. Acer has selected the 32GB SanDisk SSD P4 modular solid state drive for use in its Iconia Tab Windows 7 tablet. The SSD met Acer’s requirements for a small, lower-power storage device.
