Pure Storage has thrown down the gauntlet regarding data resilience with the first ransomware recovery service level agreement (SLA) for Evergreen//One that guarantees a clean storage environment following an attack. Pure Storage has thrown down the gauntlet regarding data resilience with the first ransomware recovery service level agreement (SLA) for Evergreen//One that guarantees a clean storage environment following an attack. The SLA-driven storage service is powered by enhanced AIOps capabilities and combines the agility of the public cloud with the security of an all-flash infrastructure.

It’s been said many times, but according to a report by IDC, over 90 percent of organizations acknowledge a malware attack, and of those, 87 percent admit a successful attack. Of course, AI is aiding hackers as they mature and use the technical resources available to sidestep many of the tools used to mitigate the risk of a ransomware attack.

Ransomware Recovery SLA

Enterprises can now benefit from a new data protection strategy, Pure Storage ransomware SLA for Evergreen//One, and enhanced AIOps features that are backed by a guaranteed recovery environment and ML/AI-based security capabilities that future-proofs agility and resilience, and speeds recovery following an attack.

The Ransomware Recovery SLA is open to existing and new Pure Storage Evergreen//One customers to purchase an add-on service guarantee for a clean storage environment with bundled technical and professional services to help with recovery following an attack with speed, simplicity, and security at scale.

Evergreen//One guarantees a next business day window to ship clean storage arrays 48 hours to finalize a recovery plan to start at any time, data transfer rate (8TiB/hour), with an on-site professional services engineer through the RMA. Following an attack, storage arrays are typically locked down for forensic investigation by cyber insurance or law enforcement, which prevents organizations from recovering data on infected arrays. The Ransomware Recovery SLA guarantees clean arrays to get customers on the path to recovery.

AIOps for Modern Data Protection

Backed by Pure1, the ML/AI-driven SaaS storage management platform, customers can leverage AIOps for anomaly detection, data protection assessments, and self-service SafeMode configuration and administration. The new self-service upgrades allow authorized users perform automated and secured non-disruptive upgrades straight from Pure1.

Pure has enhanced anomaly detection to enable customers to easily and quickly identify when and where large changes to data structures occur to reduce time to recovery and minimize data loss. A new data protection assessment allows organizations to benchmark their entire Pure Storage deployment against leading data protection best practices while gaining actionable insights to achieve complete data protection. Self-service SafeMode PIN Multi-Factor Authorization is another new service that enables secure and seamless access control, faster time to value by cutting down support cycles, and total control over SafeMode policies.

Pure Storage has put in place six concurrent SLAs aligned to a service tier with no qualifying commit. SLAs now include:

  • Zero planned downtime for upgrades or maintenance
  • 99.9999% uptime guarantee
  • 25 percent storage capacity buffer relative to usage
  • Storage performance aligned with service tier
  • Energy efficiency measured by maximum number of Watts per TiB
  • Clean array next-day guarantee for ransomware recovery
